Owen’s Party CIC for Children with Autism in Locks Heath, Southampton, Hampshire

Owen’s Party CIC Mission Statement

We are a Community Interest Company. Set up to benefit the community, especially autistic children. We are non profit organisation started as parents of a child who is on the autistic spectrum (waiting for diagnosis). We will host a classic party for children with autism to aid their social skills and wellbeing.

It is common for an autistic child to be excluded from parties and even school leading to isolation and depression.  Also, the child may have anxieties to attend a lively normal party, so does not attend. What is very important is that the child needs to interact and only through experience can they learn and gain confidence.

This is why and how Owen’s Party was born. Our aim is the following:

  • Enable autistic children excluded from social gatherings to attend a party
  • Enable children to gain confidence and learn to socialise with peers
  • Most important, that it brings them joy, fun and the opportunity to be a child
  • Parent/Carers can share ideas and form a support network in their community
